“Shame. Initiation" is a performance by Ģirts Dubults. It is an invitation to the audience to spend almost one hour in my "room" and celebrate victory over shame. During the performance I interact with audience, personal objects and clothes which have an association with femininity and intimacy. Performance starts by Prodigy* individually welcoming every spectator in the space. Prodigy* is a character inspired by drag aesthetics, who synchronizes their lips with songs about self-acceptance, love and faith during the performance.
“Shame. Initiation" was performed on 17th of June 2023 at Riga Performance Festival Starptelpa in Latvian Academy of Arts.
The performance was awarded jury prize.
