“It seems that there is no place where I could be seen as I truly am, for my body deceives our eyes. I don't feel like a man, I am not a woman. Gender is ambiguous. I feel alienated from the world. I want to be free.”

In the contemporary dance performance “For Us” Ģirts Dubults talks about the divide between the individual and society, between knowing oneself and fitting in. Observing oneself, accepting your movement and your breath creates harmony. Breath can be sensed kinesthetically and is free from sex and gender.
In the creation process of "For Us" Ģirts was interested in a rigorous set movement sequences based on the process of inhale and exhale.
Performers are aware of their breath every step of the performance.
“For Us” premiered on 29th of September 2021 at Gertrudes Street theatre in Riga.
