Postmodern Dance Conference "Silent Landscape" is a short dance performance set in a square.
It is informed by personalities of its creators and postmodern dance artists. While rehearsing the Conference choreographer and performers read texts by Trisha Brown, Yvonne Rainer and Merce Cunningham.
They pondered on notions such as "neutral context", "straightening", "rotating", "bending", "no build up", "disrupt expectation", "physical actions", "balance", "weight", "quirky personal gestures", "continous flow of equally stressed movements", "camp", "randomness", "eccentricity", "process over product", "viewed from any angle", "virtuosity", "indeterminacy", "transformation", "performer never looks directly at the audience", "spectacle", "stillness", "chance procedure" and other aspects that supposedly make up postmodern dance.
In the performance it is possible to recognize French, Dutch, Spanish, Catalan and English languages, as well as one word in German and Basque language.
