Hello, my name is Ģirts Dubults (he/she/they).
I am an artist who is interested in choreography.
I use text, memory and compassion to create performative work with hunch of community in mind.
I am interested in emotional and intimate spaces where vulnerability prevails; where bodies become people.
Performance for me is a space and time where shame ceases to exist and neglected femininity appears.
It is LipSync*.
I am researching the practice of lip-synchronization by developing a workshop and performative tool: LipSync*.
It invites everyone to let go of social constraints and support each other by embodying favourite songs.
I am from Latvia. In Latvia I engaged in artistic creation with contemporary dance collective "SIXTH".
I received a Bachelor of Social Science (Riga Stradins University "International Relations", 2016)
and Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (Latvian Academy of Culture "Contemporary Dance", 2021)
In 2024 I completed Creators programme at "La Faktoria" Choreographic Center in Pamplona, Spain. I was lucky enough to experience workshops by inspiring artists - Vera Mantero, Martin Nachbar, "Los Informals" and others.
Now I am studying MA "Choreography" in Stockholm University of the Arts and I will graduate in June, 2026.
